Vehicle Assistance Program

How can it help?

The Vehicle Assistance Program will provide a vehicle assistance grant directly to the licensed mechanic up to $500 to residents of LC living at or below 200% of poverty.  This is a limited assistance program with priority funding given to those who are participating in one of ACE’s workforce initiatives Manufacturing or Job Placement programs.  Please email jzang@acenepa.org for more information on how to sign up to one of these Workforce Initiative Programs.

Fixing the Car

WHAT DO I NEED TO QUALIFY FOR THE PROGRAM?

  • Eligible applicants must reside within the Lackawanna County

  • Provide proof of household income

    • two recent pay stubs

  • Verification that the applicant works a minimum of 21 hours/per week, or a formal offer letter from a future employer documenting the expected hourly wage

  • Estimate from a certified mechanic

  • Photo ID

  • Applications will be accepted beginning November 2, 2020

  • Up to $500 per vehicle will be provided by ACE of NEPA directly to the servicing garage

  • One applicant per household, per year

  • This program will run until funding is depleted.

  • An applicant’s household income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines as noted above.
