Vehicle Assistance Program
How can it help?
The Vehicle Assistance Program will provide a car repair grant up to $500.00 for necessary car repairs to residents of Lackawanna County living at or below 200% of poverty who need the car to get to work.
WHAT DO I NEED TO QUALIFY FOR THE PROGRAM?

Eligible applicants must reside within the Lackawanna County

Provide proof of household income

two recent pay stubs

Verification that the applicant works a minimum of 21 hours/per week, or a formal offer letter from a future employer documenting the expected hourly wage

Estimate from a certified mechanic

Photo ID

Applications will be accepted beginning November 2, 2020

Up to $500 per vehicle will be provided by SLHDA directly to the servicing garage

One applicant per household, per year

The deadline to apply is October 31, 2021, or until funding is depleted.

An applicant’s household income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines as noted above.
