Utility Assistance Program

How can it Help?

The Utility Assistance Program will provide a payment to the utility of your choice for up to $225.00 for residents of Lackawanna County living at or below 200% of poverty.

WHAT DO I NEED TO QUALIFY FOR THE PROGRAM?

  • Eligible applicants must reside within the Lackawanna County

  • Provide proof of household income

    • two recent pay stubs from each person working

  • Verification that at least one person (applicant) works a minimum of 21 hours/per week. or a formal offer letter from a future employer documenting the expected hourly wage

  • Copies of 2 most recent utility bills

  • Photo ID

  • Applications will be accepted beginning November 2, 2020

  • The deadline to apply is October 31, 2021, or until funding is depleted.

  • One applicant per household, per year

  • An applicant’s household income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (as noted above.
