PA One Book

Pennsylvania One Book is an established program that highlights the importance of early literacy development in preschoolers and the significance of reading early and often to children.  This year’s PA One Book selection was “Not a Box” by Antoinette Portis.  Books were purchased and provided to all preschool children enrolled in SLHDA Early Learning Programs.

A box is just a box...unless it's not a box. From mountain to rocket ship, a small rabbit shows that a box will go as far as the imagination allows.

Our children and families used their imaginations to create some amazing vehicles which they used at a “drive in” movie!!

Congratulations to Wallenpaupack North 1 who submitted this winning entry into our annual literacy contest!

Thank you to all the families and staff who participated in helping our children develop their literacy skills and their imaginations!!
