Customized Job Training Activities


The Workforce Investment Act (WIA provides for a specific activity entitled "Customized Job Training" or CJT which is designed to specifically address specialized needs of an employer. As economic conditions within a geographic area fluctuate, many employers are faced with employees or potential employees in need of additional or upgraded skill sets to meet production needs. To accommodate this situation, WIA may partner with an employer and State-approved training institution in the development and implementation of a skill-specific training curriculum which can be conducted either on-site at the employer or off-site at the training institution. In most cases, the participant will either be a current employee or have been approved for hire by the employer upon successful completion of training.
