Assessment of Skills and Abilities


The Lackawanna County Workforce Investment Area conducts assessment and testing of all prospective Workforce Investment Act (WIA) participants to determine each individuals level of reading and math competency solely for use in determining the most appropriate mix of services and training and, specifically, as an assist in the formulation of proper employment and training plans. Any exceptions to this procedure are determined on an individual case basis during the applicants's initial case management interview.
