Maximizing Participation Project Extension (MPPE)
MPPE is a program designed to assign TANF clients who are exempt from
work requirements or have been repeatedly unsuccessful in obtaining or
maintaining employment. MPPE's primary goal is to provide services
and encouragement that will help the client alleviate barriers to
move toward self-sufficiency. These clients face a variety of barriers
requiring behavioral, health, medical counseling intervention and
rehabilitative services. These are assessed by the County Assistance Office
or its designee, and arrangements are made to provide the appropriate services.
MPPE is designed to assist TANF clients realize their individual potential,
improve their quality of life, and move closer to achieving self-sufficiency
by removing barriers to employment.
The program provides case management,vocational assessment education, training,
English -as-a-second-language, work activities, job placement, job retention
services and special allowances including child care and transportation.
